The Children of the United States... Did You Know?

There are currently 500,000 children in foster care in the United States.  Approximately 118,000 of these children are eligable for adoption.

Every year in the U.S. alone, over 25,000 children AGE OUT of the foster system with no family to belong to and no place to call home.

More than one-third of Americans have seriously considered adopting, but no more than 2% have actually adopted.

In Orange County there are 3,059 children in the foster care system.  300-400 of these children “age out” of the foster care system per year.
