Orphan Care PEACE Trips:  You can GO! 

PEACE churches in the country of Rwanda have invited Saddleback Church to partner with them in transforming their country.  The Rwanda Orphan Care Initiative is a unique, church-initiated plan for orphans and vulnerable children which uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Join the almost 1000 other people who have travelled to Rwanda on a PEACE trip, but be among the first to go on a specific trip designed around orphan care.

Following the principles of PEACE, your unique abilities and S.H.A.P.E. (Spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality and experiences) will be used on a Global Orphan Care PEACE trip to Rwanda. 

PRAY:  There will be an orphan care soccer initiative team heading to Rwanda mid July.  Prayer support is crucial; be praying the Lord transforms hearts in Kigali, Rwanda and Kibuye, Rwanda as the PEACE team shares the Good News!

Frequently Asked Questions about Orphan Care PEACE trips to Rwanda:

Question:  When are the trips scheduled?

Answer:  There are Rwanda Orphan Care trips scheduled every other month for 2012. 

Question:  Do I need to be a Saddleback Church member?

Answer:  No, but attendance and participation are required at the multiple  training sessions held at the Lake Forest, CA campus.

            Question:  What will we do? 

Answer:  Each trip is uniquely designed around the needs of the local church in Rwanda at the time of the trip, and the unique skills of the team travelling to Rwanda.  Previous teams have helped children learn English, taught basic carpentry and other construction or technical skills, shared biblical parenting principles with Rwandan church members who are fostering or adopting Rwandan children and taught principles of Purpose Driven church-based children’s programs.

• Support the adoption of an orphan by a Rwandan family who is eager to adopt but needs financial assistance.

• Support local church orphan ministries – that provide life-skill training for orphans

– that provide drop-in centers for street children

– that provide other interventions for orphans and vulnerable children.

• Help Saddleback families adopt orphans by giving to our Saddleback Adoption Assistance Fund.
