Family Lunch Volunteer:

We host a family lunch and support group for foster and adoptive families.  Come serve lunch or play games with the children.  All supplies are provided. All ages welcome. 4th Sunday of the month from 1-3pm

Family Friends:

Become a support and treasured helper in the life of a foster or adoptive family.   With training, you can come alongside a foster or adoptive family and offer them the help they need.

Pack a Bag with Love:

Sadly, over 100 children must be rescued each month form dangerous home environments. You can provide a child with a bit of security by packing a new bag or backpack with a new stuffed animal, blanket, toiletries and a pair of pajamas. Bags are needed for boys and girls ages 0-18.

Brown Bag Times 2:

For the price of a lunch out, you can provide a teen who has aged out foster care with hygiene supplies for a month.  Fill a brown lunch bag with shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste. Any extras such as lotion and makeup are always appreciated.  (Items must be new.)

Saddleback Playgroup:

Visit and play with children at Orangewood Children’s Home, the emergency shelter located in the city of Orange.    We volunteer as a group, we provide the supplies and no training is required.  You can join this group one time or on a regular basis. Playgroups serve one Saturday morning and one Sunday afternoon per month, for a total of 3 hours per group.  Carpools from the church are available.

Perfect for individuals who enjoy spending time with children.

 Skillz4Life Teen Workshop:

This workshop gives you an opportunity to teach much needed skills to local teens on the verge of aging out of foster care. We volunteer as a group, we provide the supplies and no training is required.  You can join this group one time or on a regular basis. 2 Workshops are conducted per month, one at the Orangewood Foundation located in Santa Ana and one on our Lake Forest Campus. Each workshop is 3 hours.

Carpools are available to Santa Ana.

Perfect for individuals who enjoy spending time with teens.  Must be 18 years or older.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA):

CASA is a child’s voice in court.  It is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the rights of children who have been removed from their homes because of chronic or severe child abuse.  You may be interested in becoming a CASA volunteer if you are a mature responsible adult who can relate to children in stressful situations.  You must be willing to commit your time to ensure that an abused or neglected child ends up in a safe permanent home.  Training is provided and background clearances are required.  Men and women ages 21 and older, who enjoy spending time with children or teens.

 Big Brothers and Sisters of Orange County:

Being a Big Brother or sister is one of the most enjoyable things you will ever do.  Not to mention, one of the most fulfilling.  You have the opportunity to help shape a child’s future for the better by empowering them to achieve.  And the best part is, it’s actually a lot of fun.  You and your little can share the kinds of activities you like to do.   Must be 18 years or older.
